Reseach Interest/More Background Info:
Austin Hochstetler became a project manager for the Eppley Institute in 2012. Mr. Hochstetler has worked largely in the parks and recreation field, holding various positions in the non-profit and public sectors. He brings diverse professional experiences that include positions with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. Boy Scouts of America, and YMCA, and has worked in many capacities for Clemson Univeristy. He also has tremendous experience working in the outdoor recreation industry as an instructor and manager.
Mr. Hochstetler contributes to the advancement of the Eppley Institute's core values and goals with his strong research, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills, which he honed through his participation in grant research work for the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as well as his experience in evaluation research and park and recreation department assessments. With his background in working with people of varying ages and demographics, he has a keen ability to collabroate and communicate with stakeholder groups. His interests include not only building better people but also building better communities.
