Background
Research Interests

My work has been focusing on environmental contaminants and nutrients. My early work involves the investigation of the risks of pancreatic, lung and prostate cancers in relation to cadmium exposure using meta-analytic approaches. Recently, I am working on a project that assesses the association between heavy metal exposure, particularly cadmium and mercury, and the risk of stroke. I am also working with scholars abroad to investigate the risk factors for a variety of diseases including dementia, preterm birth, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease,  and childhood obesity. Keywords: nutritional epidemiology, heavy metal, trace elements.
