Background

Mr. Roche joined the Eppley Institute in January 2016 as a Senior Program Manager, overseeing strategic planning and research services. Prior to joining the Eppley Institute, Mr. Roche worked in the field of community recreation for over 20 years, the last 10 of which were spent leading the development of a new county parks department in Hendricks County Parks in Indiana. In addition to 12 years at the Director level, Mr. Roche also has experience in aquatics, programming, facilities management and capital project management. In support of community parks agencies, he has also helped establish multiple parks foundations and support organizations and serves as a visitor for the National Recreation and Parks Association’s Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies

Research Interests

Mr. Roche is a passionate supporter of local parks agencies and an ardent believer in their ability to transform communities, serve as catalysts for economic activity, be a key resource for community health, and their ability to unite service organizations to amplify their impact on the community’s quality of life.
